ECD workshops

Two great ECD workshops are coming to Squamish in March. The workshops have been organized by Sea to Sky Community Services. Both are led by world-renowned teacher and therapist Kim Barthel:

  • March 9: Stress Matters: Understanding how anxiety affects behaviour and health. This evening workshop (6:30-8:30, Garibaldi Room, Howe Sound Brewery) will support parents and professionals who in turn support children of all ages. Topics for discussion include what causes stress, how to recognize it, and how to help prevent and manage it. This event is fully booked.
  • March 10: Behavioural Detective in the Classroom. Many children experience challenges in the manner in which they process sensory information. Their behaviour is a way of coping with these challenges. This four-hour workshop will help you learn to ‘look beyond the behaviour’ and into the nervous system in order to help children to succeed in a classroom setting – and beyond. You’ll learn strategies including adapting the environment, altering interaction and providing appropriate supports. This event is fully booked.

These workshops are sponsored by the Putting Children First Initiative, Sea to Sky Community Services and BCGEU.
